Have you ever asked yourself, 'What's the point?"  The verses above from Solomon show 'there is no true happiness and satisfaction to be had in pleasure, and the delights of sense. '  So many people are living for the desires of the world with no sense of purpose, other than themselves.  

The book of Proverbs is a book of instructions to wise living.  It is NOT a book of promises or guarantees, but instruction in terms of generalities.  Proverbs is meant to be referenced to in all stages of life by everyone.  

Do you think there is a difference between happiness and joy?  I believe there is. Happiness is dependent on circumstances, but joy is inward and is not disturbed by one’s environment.  Happiness comes and goes, but my joy is constant.  Why?  Because my joy is found in God and He never changes.
